Robert J. Randisi has written more published novels than we can count, but the tally is somewhere north of five hundred. Perfect Crime is lucky that a handful have been for us.
Besides his many mysteries, Randisi has made his mark in the adult western market. Under the pen name "J.R. Roberts," he is the creator and author of the Gunsmith series, which has been appearing monthly since 1982.
He is the author of The Honky Tonk Big Hoss Boogie, the first in a new series of mysteries set in Nashville featuring "session man" guitarist Auggie Velez. And he has edited numerous anthologies, including The Shamus Winners, Crime Square, and Hollywood and Crime.
Recent mysteries include a series of Hollywood Rat Pack novels.
In 1982, Bob Randisi founded the Private Eye Writers of America, of which he remains executive director. A native of Brooklyn, he lives with his wife, the writer Marthayn Pelegrimas (co-author with Robert of the Gil and Claire Hunt mysteries), in Clarksville, Missouri, in a house overlooking the Mississippi.
